Halloween Candy Cravings

Is Tapping Effective in Reducing Halloween Candy Cravings?

With Halloween just around the corner and shelves of bagged candy already beginning to overflow the entrance ways of our supermarkets, our deconditioned, confectionary willpower muscles may be in need of some support. Some people just feel the dreaded holiday season coming, knowing the stress and guilt that is coming with all the food related…

Placebos

Placebos, Nocebos and Stress Death

A study found that women that believed that they had a greater chance of having heart disease actually had a 3 times greater incidence of heart disease, after all other risk factors were ruled out. Another study found that close to 100% of those people that went for surgery with a “death wish” or wanting to reconnect with a loved one who had passed, would die in surgery or immediately afterwards. More evidence of nocebo validation was found

Belief Systems and Past Lives

EFT, Belief Systems and Past Lives

A 25 year long study on past life recall in children was performed at the University of Virginia. Most of these children had clear memories from age 2 to age 7. These kids from around the world had quite a few things in common including shared verifiable traits of the previous personality, memories of unnatural causes of death, recognition of relatives from the same family circle, and birth defects or marks corresponding with injuries experienced in those past lives.

EFT for Major Life Changes

EFT for Major Life Changes

Life is all about changing and learning. When we aren’t growing we can get hit with what I call the “cosmic two by four”. This can look like the breakup of a relationship, being diagnosed with a frightening disease or the loss of a job. That kind of journey into the depths of despair can also be seen as life throwing us into a full course correction.

Core Issues; When You Can’t See the Forest Through the Trees

There has been a lot written about the importance of finding a core issue. In fact, my ability to find core issues quickly is something people often say about my work. Core issues are your assumptions about the world and who you are. It’s often reflected in the way you behave. Often they are subconscious and hidden to you. One of the things I love about EFT is it’s ability to jog the subconscious mind and allow ideas and concepts to come to the forefront of consciousness. Core issues are the framework of your reality-

How Congruent Are You

How Congruent Are You Living Your Life?

EFT utilizes several concepts that are aspects of Neuro-Linguistic Programming, or NLP. One of the most important concepts, especially when working on life challenges, is the idea of congruence. Congruence could be defined as “rapport within oneself, or internal and external consistency.” Another simple way of thinking about it is the compliance between your ideal self and your actual self. I also think that the larger societal conversation about the need for authenticity is very resonant with this concept of congruence.

Healing the Pain of Being in Relationship With Someone Who Is Narcissistic or Borderline

Two of the most difficult issues to work with are that of two personality extremes that are on the same continuum, those that have been referred to as borderlines and narcissists and those who are in relationship with them. Obviously I do not treat these people for those conditions but sometimes they are referred to me by their mental health care professionals. I have heard from a number of therapists, that they choose to not work with individuals who acknowledge themselves as having these disorders. They feel that the odds of recovery and healing from these conditions are too low. My point of interest isn’t in helping those who are unfortunately plagued with these issues but with the people that are in relationship with them.

Judging Your Clients

Do You Really Think That You Are Not Judging Your Clients?

You might consider yourself a rational and logical person. You might be convinced that as an EFT coach that your are perfectly neutral and not bringing any biases to your client sessions. You might think that you don’t judge people. You see yourself as open-minded. Are you really as objective as you think you are? As Gary Craig used to say, “Everybody judges everybody else, period. You just have to get over it and not prevent this from stopping you from fulfilling your dreams.”
