IN this study of college students and their accompanying school stress, the acupressure point group stress declined by 39.3%, while the sham group declined by just 8.1%, indicating that EFT tapping on the prescribed acupressure points is an effective means of reducing immediate stress in college students
“This is the first randomized controlled trial of EFT to evaluate a physiological biomarker (i.e., cortisol levels) and it shows robust, positive effects. It sets the stage for further research to explore whether EFT affects other physiological systems, including the expression of genes involved in the stress response” according to Garret Yount, PhD, of the California Pacific Medical Center Research Institute, the study’s primary author.
