The Stick Person Finds Tapping; Shifting the Paradigm

A paradigm is a model. A specific paradigm could be based upon the ideas and beliefs that cause you to do things automatically. These are the habits and behaviors you automatically operate by that create specific results. Another way to say this is that your paradigm is the software that is running your hardware. If you want your life to change, then you need to look at changing your current paradigm.
Let us look at a particular model called “The Stick Person Model” created by Dr Thurman Fleet and then popularized by Bob Proctor. The big head in the diagram represents your mind that is split in two. Those little antennae at the top of the mind are your 5 senses. The two parts of the mind are the conscious mind and the subconscious mind. Your mind is then attached to the significantly smaller body.
The conscious mind is also known as your “thinking mind” and it is the part of you that makes decisions. It is where logic and intellect and higher faculties reside. It is also responsible for your intuition, will, imagination, perception, your narrative/factual memory, and your ability to reason.
The other part of the mind, the subconscious half, is also known as your emotional mind. Guess what resides in your emotional mind? Your paradigm! This part of your mind does not judge, it doesn’t filter, and it is not bound by any sense of time. It is responsible for your self-image, your habits, and your behaviors. The subconscious mind cannot differentiate between what is real and what is imagined. It is the seat of your self-image, and it controls almost everything you do.
To a significant degree your mind instructs your body. Your mind, both parts, filtered by your 5 senses, directs your body to take action and that action will create a result. The conscious, or thinking mind, most believe, is supposed to run the show. In other words, we would like it to be the master. The way we can influence moving our behaviors in this direction is by shifting our emotional response and that’s where EFT is so useful.
We often make the mistake believing that a paradigm is difficult or impossible to change. All you need to do is look at the state of the world today to know that people are entrenched into a set of beliefs that might have little to do with reality. I am sure you have had the experience of trying to “talk sense” to someone that does not believe something you see to be true and quickly realized that it was not a highly effective method of persuasion.
Here is an example of how a paradigm can shift very quickly. Imagine that you are driving down a quiet country road on a relaxing Sunday after. Suddenly your peaceful state of mind is rattled by a speeding car who passes you 20 miles over the limit. You think, “What a jerk!” and you cannot stop thinking about how selfish and reckless and arrogant that driver was as you continue to drive on with the speeding car now out of sight. Ten minutes later you turn onto a much bigger artery where you find yourself side by side with that same car at a stop light. You look over at the rider well prepared to give them a piece of your mind when you see a woman in full labor in the back seat. In an instant your paradigm changed, and you experience remorse, sympathy, and a desire to be of support.
Using EFT is a fantastic way to change your paradigm because you are working directly with the subconscious mind. EFT sessions enable a person to make connections and recall experiences that influence their paradigm, but they may have forgotten about or not seen the relevance to the memory. Almost every session which is guided by a skillfully trained practitioner will result in the client saying, “Hmm, I don’t know why I am remembering this but ….” This is magic to a practitioner’s ears because they know at that point that the subconscious is assisting the process. Matrix Reimprinting EFT operates almost exclusively with the subconscious mind. In Matrix we target memories that happened when the subconscious mind was being formed – ages 0-7. As a fetus, infant and very young child, your brain did not have a fully developed conscious mind and intellect and rational decision making was not in charge. Whatever was happening in your environment (other people, media, experiences) went directly into your subconscious mind as fact without any filter. This data becomes hardwired and if that software is never updated, it has the power to create and maintain a limited if not faulty paradigm about how caring or nurturing or supportive or safe the world is or is not.
Do you want to change your programming? Do you want to shift out of a consciousness that is giving you results you do not like or desire? Do you want your journey to have all the parts of you onboard with the process of transformation? Then I recommend learning EFT and Matrix Reimprinting as one of the most effective and fastest ways to accomplish that.
