“AAMET” soon to become “EFT International”

We share the following announcement with you to keep you informed as to important professional updates for the EFT organization that we train on behalf of and with whom our certified students gain accreditation through. We fully support these improvements and changes and wanted to make sure you were aware of the transition. You can find links listed below if you are a practitioner or trainer regarding updating your certificates, logos and more.
The following letter was received on 1/6/2019 as a correspondence from Jacqui Footman, Chair, AAMET International,
on behalf of the AAMET Executive Board.
January 2019
Dear Member,
We’ve got some exciting news to share with you, but before we get to that, this week marks a cause for celebration – our first year of attaining charitable incorporated status (CIO) in the UK. As a not-for-profit UK-based organisation, we stand on firmer footing from which to fulfill our mission as international standard-bearers for EFT.
This milestone, together with our website upgrade, ongoing revision of training standards, and news that NICE recommends further study of EFT, has meant more visibility for our association – and for EFT as a whole. We trust that our endeavors in these areas will continue to translate into ever-greater business opportunities for you – our members – from those who seek the highest quality EFT practice and education.
We can be proud that together we’ve become an influential and recognizable force in both the EFT community and the realm of complementary therapies – an association of professionals who represent the leading edge of offering quality EFT to the world.
What’s in a name?
Despite our success, over time many of you have told us that you felt the current name ‘AAMET’ wasn’t helpful, reflecting correctly that it does not quite describe who we are and what we represent, and is confusing to those who have not specifically learned what it means (Association for the Advancement of Meridian Energy Techniques).
So the Exec have given it a great deal of thought and taken on board the comments from a cross-section of members. Indeed, there’s been a growing feeling that the acronym ‘AAMET’ does not easily translate to those who don’t already know it, and a sense that it doesn’t accurately reflect who we are – a professional, international association of EFT specialists.
Therefore, a new name, one that not only includes the international aspect of our work, but highlights the “EFT” specialty, as well, fits the bill much better for now and future aspirations. Therefore we’ve decided to move forward with changing the name of our organization to EFT International.
“EFT International”
What this means is that in the coming year we will gradually transition our name from ‘AAMET International’ to ‘EFT International’ (or ‘EFTi,’ for short). In many ways, behind the scenes, this process has already begun. For example, we have trademarked our name in the UK, and secured the URL EFTInternational.org, which is now pointing to our current website.
What does all this mean for you, right now? At this time, you don’t need to take any action, but we have created a special Renaming FAQs page for members on our website (https://aametinternational.org/aamet-efti-renaming-faq/) to help you understand what work has been done, what changes you can expect, and how you can begin integrating (and sharing) this news.
In the coming weeks and months, we will let you know precisely what to do as this process unfolds – as we update our logo, titles, website links, accreditation materials, etc., – to reflect the change. We pledge this will all happen with clear guidance and direction, and on a flexible timetable so that you will have the greatest opportunity to make a smooth transition.
Your feedback
During this process, we want to hear from you. Please check out the special Renaming FAQs for Members page, post to our FB groups or write to us at comms@aamet.org.
Soon we will be in touch with more action-steps and information, including specific ways you can begin integrating this momentous new chapter of our journey together.
With warmest wishes for this promising New Year,
Jacqui Footman
Chair, AAMET International,
on behalf of the AAMET Executive Board
